Inspired by Big Al's K.C Bar-B-Q Sauce
Ingredients
2 cups tomato ketchup
1 small can tomato puree
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 1/4 cups vinegar (I use apple vinegar)
1/2 cup molasses
2 tablespoons salted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Method
2 cups tomato ketchup
1 small can tomato puree
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 1/4 cups vinegar (I use apple vinegar)
1/2 cup molasses
2 tablespoons salted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Method
- In a large saucepan (preferably with a lid) mix all the ingredients and cook on medium heat.
- Once it starts to simmer, turn down the heat to low and leave it to thicken, up to one hour stirring occasionally. Partially cover with the lid when not stirring.
- As a marinade, mix the sauce with your chicken or beef and leave it overnight in the refrigerator. Place the marinated meat on your bbq grill and enjoy the sticky and gooey goodness!
