CHOCOLATE CHUNK SCONES (V) (G)

Ingredients
70g butter + extra for greasing
280g self-raising flour
1 tablespoon caster sugar
55g chocolate chunks
plain flour for dusting
150ml milk

Method
- Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celcius
- Sift the flour into a bowl and cut the butter into
the mixture using your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Stir in the caster sugar and chocolate chunks then mix in just enough milk into the mixture to form a soft dough.
- Turn the mixture out onto a lightly dusted work surface then roll out the dough to form a long cylinder/rectangle.
- Cut the dough into 9 to 10 even sized rectangles/triangles.
- Place the dough on lightly greased baking sheet, spaced apart.
- Brush the top with a little milk and then bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
- Best eaten when still warm with butter or jam.
