Chili Con Carne

Chili con carne simply means 'chili stew with meat' and is synonymous to Texas/Mexican origin dishes. It is usually enjoyed together with cornbread. You can get our cornbread recipe here.
Ingredients
1 medium red onion, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 red chili, diced
450g minced beef
2 cans whole peeled tomatoes
1 can red kidney beans
1 tablespoon tomato puree
1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 cube of beef bouillon
salt
sugar
Method
1 medium red onion, minced

3 tablespoons olive oil

450g minced beef
2 cans whole peeled tomatoes
1 can red kidney beans
1 tablespoon tomato puree
1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 cube of beef bouillon
salt

Method
- Heat the oil in a skillet
- Saute the onion, garlic and red chili until fragrant
- Stir in the minced beef and fry until brown together with the ground cumin and chili powder
- Add the tomato puree, canned tomatoes and red kidney beans. Mix them thoroughly, add the beef bouillon then season with salt and sugar. Simmer on low heat for 30 to 40 minutes
- Taste and adjust the seasoning before serving
- Finish with grated cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream and enjoy with cornbread

3 ulas bawang putih, dicincang
3 sudu besar minyak zaitun (atau minyak masak)
1/2 biji cili merah, dicincang
450g daging cincang
2 tin tomato (telah dikupas kulitnya)
1 tin kacang merah
1 sudu besar puri tomato
1 sudu kecil serbuk jintan putih
2 sudu kecil serbuk cili
1 kiub pati lembu/ayam
garam
gula
Cara-cara
1 labu bawang merah sederhana, dicincang
3 ulas bawang putih, dicincang
3 sudu besar minyak zaitun (atau minyak masak)
1/2 biji cili merah, dicincang
450g daging cincang
2 tin tomato (telah dikupas kulitnya)
1 tin kacang merah
1 sudu besar puri tomato
1 sudu kecil serbuk jintan putih
2 sudu kecil serbuk cili
1 kiub pati lembu/ayam
garam

Cara-cara
- Panaskan minyak dalam kuali
- Tumiskan bawang merah, bawang putih dan cili yg telah dicincang tadi sehingga wangi
- Masukkan daging cincang dan goreng sehingga perang bersama serbuk jintan putih dan serbuk cili tadi
- Campurkan puri tomato, tomato dalam tin dan kacang merah ke dalam kuali dan masak seketika kemudian masukkan kiub pati lembu dengan garam dan gula secukup rasa.
- Renehkan pada api yang kecil selama 30 ke 40 minit
- Rasa dan tambahkan garam atau gula mengikut citarasa
- Hidangkan bersama parutan keju Cheddar, krim masam dan 'cornbread'
